Family vacations create memories that last for a lifetime. Planning those vacations can be stressful but they don’t have to be. One simple way is to plan a family-friendly resort getaway at Orlando World Center Marriott. Located less than four miles away from the Walt Disney World theme parks and entertainment center, World Center Marriott offers something to do for everyone in the family, no matter their age or size.
About The Resort
Situated on 200 acres, the Orlando World Center Marriott is a hotel, resort, and convention center that has over 2,000 guest rooms. With the largest lagoon pool in Orlando, two water slide areas, spa, multiple restaurants, and an 18-hole golf course, it’s the largest Marriott property in the world. Conveniently located right off of I-4, the resort is centrally located and in close proximity to Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Studios. The resort is cashless so everything must be charged to guests’ rooms or a credit card.
With over 2,000 guest rooms on the property, there is a style of room for every type of family. The newly renovated rooms have hard surface floors to help keep things cleaner. Double sinks in the bathrooms help everyone get ready quicker and mini-refrigerators allow families to keep food and drinks on hand.
From standard rooms with two beds to the 1,500 Governor’s Suite, rooms fit every sized family. There are even connecting rooms to make rooms more spacious. When selecting a room, consider if you’d like to overlook the golf course, pool (where you can see the nightly laser light show from your balcony), or water park. Or ask for a room that lets you see the fireworks from Disney properties. Perfect for those who want the experience without having to fight the crowds.
River Falls Water Park
There are three inner tube water slides and a 575-foot lazy river that await guests at the River Falls Water Park. With plenty of twists, turns, and drops the water slides offer plenty of excitement for older riders. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely ride on the lazy river while passing by tropical landscaping. Ready for a cold drink? Hop out of the river and grab a drink at The Cargo Bar. The littlest ones don’t have to feel left out. At the edge of the lazy river are multiple bubbling nozzles for them to splash around in. With plenty of seating and rentable cabanas, River Falls Water Park is a great place to spend the day.
Falls Lagoon Pool
Home to one of the coolest hotel pools in Florida, there is a zero-entry 40,000-gallon pool that offers guests the perfect place to lay out and relax the day away. Hang out in the water or relax on one of the submerged shelves to keep cool on the edge. Large screen monitors hang around the waterfall showing sports and movies. Adventure seekers can climb the pool’s tower and zoom down the three water slides.
The smallest of the family can enjoy the Kid’s Splash Zone with a miniature slide and water activities. For those who might not want to get in the pool, there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available. Get more comfortable seating and rent a daybed or private cabana so the entire family can relax in style. And there’s no need to get up and leave when everyone gets hungry. Chairside meal service is available to have those sandwiches and frozen drinks brought directly to you.
When not in the water, there are plenty of other activities for families to enjoy at Orlando World Center Marriott. The resort’s activities team puts together things to keep everyone occupied. Every Saturday, the Gator Land experience offers children the opportunity to get an up-close look at reptiles.
There are also hula hoop contests, crafts, dance classes, ping pong tournaments, movies in the pool, and water aerobics. And every night at the lagoon pool, don’t miss the laser light show. Timed to the beat of the music, it’s viewable poolside, at the nearby fire pit, or from the balcony of rooms overlooking the pool. It’s also one of the best hotels near Disney World, offering a free shuttle to all of the Disney theme parks and the Disney Springs entertainment area.
Parents and grandparents who need a little time to themselves can find their respite right at the resort. The Spa at the Orlando World Center Marriott offers plenty of pampering treats from pedicures to massages and facials. Exercise enthusiasts don’t have to forgo their workouts while on vacation and can access the resort’s state-of-the-art fitness center. Golf enthusiasts can head to Hawk’s Landing, the resort’s 18-hole golf course which includes a driving range and putting green. Guests can also rent golf clubs and, if the kids know how to golf, they play for free!
On-Site Dining Options
Dining at hotels isn’t always an enjoyable experience. Food can tend to taste the same and be not that exciting. It’s the opposite at the World Center Marriott! Six sit-down restaurants are at the resort and each has its own head chef to develop menus. The result is that every restaurant has a unique flavor and a hamburger at one location tastes different than a burger at another.
Families have a variety of dining choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in-between. Italian, Southern, Japanese hibachi and a sports bar all are on site. There’s also a sushi bar in the lounge in the lobby, the pool bar and grill, a pantry to pick up snacks or hot sandwiches, and a Starbucks for even more ways to keep everyone full.
