Georgie Darling

Georgie Darling is a freelance writer at Trips To Discover and has been writing for the team since 2020. Born and raised in London, UK, Georgie grew up exploring Europe with a determination to see as much of the world as possible.

A spontaneously-booked solo travel trip through Eastern Europe at the age of 19 was Georgie’s first taste of adventure, and since then, she’s ventured across five continents before moving to Indonesia in 2019. Nowadays, she spends half her time in Bali and the other half exploring the rest of the world. Some of her favorite experiences include scuba diving in rural Indonesia, island hopping in Colombia, road-tripping through Morocco, and interrailing through Europe.

Georgie started her career as a news journalist at Yahoo before moving into branded content at a travel start-up in London. She’s been writing for eight years but has been full-time freelancing since 2019. Georgie’s work has appeared in publications including The Guardian, Fodor’s, ELLE Magazine, VICE UK, and more, and she’s worked with brands including Marriott Hotels, Tripadvisor, Airbnb, and various tourism boards around the world.

Georgie is a journalist by trade and has a degree in Journalism Studies from the University of Sheffield in England. She’s triple-accredited by the NCTJ, BJTC, and PPA.
