Trust us, you want to make the hike to “The Crack”. You’ll begin your 3.5 mile journey at Bell Trail—proceed with caution along the rugged terrain. The stream within the Wet Beaver Wilderness is incredible for hiking, fishing for trout and swimming, of course.
Within the Sonoran Desert, The Crack is surrounded by riparian wilderness, and appears as an oasis amongst the rich orange rock. It’s a definite a vision after a somewhat difficult desert hike.
Huge cliffs that range in heights from 8-30 feet can be accessed by the brave. Be prepared for some chilly water when you make the plunge. Don’t worry, there’s water level access too, if you are not up for jumping. Swim, splash, or just lay back on a rock and soak up the sun.
Know before you go
Bring at least a gallon of water per person. You will dehydrate quickly along the hike
Wear durable shoes like waterproof hiking boots
Brink a backpack to make carrying supplies easier
Wear sunscreen and protective clothing as the sun is harsh
