Go to a Professional Sports Game
Phoenix is home to three professional teams: the NFL’s Cardinals, the NHL’s Coyotes, and the MLB’s Diamondbacks. All three venues are incredibly well built and always offer a good time to both residents and visitors to the area.
Wildlife World Zoo
The Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park is an experience unlike anything else that you could do in Phoenix. With over 600 animal species who call the park their home, you’ll see everything from a penguin to a tiger.
Hike the Superstitions
The Superstition Mountains are one of the best places within the Phoenix area to go for a hike or spend a little time outdoors. There are lots of fantastic trails to check out, so be sure to bring your water!
Picnic at Papago Park
Nothing says “Arizona” quite like a picnic in the gorgeous desert terrain, which is why everyone should bring lunch to Papago Park at least once in their lives. Do some hiking and peek through the famous “hole in the rock.”
Kayak Down the Salt River
At the Fort McDowell Adventures company, you can rent one of their kayaks for a day of cruising down the great Salt River. Along your journey you’re bound to see plenty of wildlife and beautiful plants that native to Arizona.
Try Your Luck at the Wild Horse Pass Casino
The Wild Horse Pass Casino is one of the Phoenix area’s newer establishments, and has quickly become a state favorite for playing some games of chance. They have several machines, card games, a nightclub, and even the occasional concert too.
Watch the Bats at Sunset
Everyday around dusk, there are places around Phoenix where you can go to watch 20,000 bats fly off at once to start their hunt for food. The best spot for viewing is on the north side of the Arizona Canal.
Book a Dinner Cruise on the Dolly Steamboat
There’s no better way to end the day than with a dinner cruise on Canyon Lake just outside of Phoenix. This slow rolling boat is relaxing, romantic, and completely regenerates the soul on a lazy Arizona evening under the stars.
