Step aboard the Halcyon for a two-night immersive adventure when you check into Disney’s Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Designed as far more than a simple hotel or spectacular set used during filming, it’s more of an all-senses, interactive, and almost overwhelming experience. A stay at this hotel is just about as futuristic as things can get.

Discover your missions throughout the stay

As soon as you’ve entered the Halcyon for its 275th anniversary trip from Chandrila to Batuu, you’ll find yourself inside of a giant, futuristic spacecraft filled with major set pieces and relics from the Star Wars series. In this galaxy far, far away, you’ll be treated to two day’s and night’s worth of entertainment, featuring actors working their magic around you and a 24/7 space-worthy experience.

Characters interact with guests

If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll probably already be familiar with the Halcyon. Playing host to the likes of Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala and Lando Calrissian, you’ll be treated to a realistic look at a whole new dimension. This Star Wars-themed land is set in the time period between Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017) and Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019), with a specific storyline to match.

Sleeping pods for beds

You’ll start your stay here by entering the spaceport, where you’ll ride a pod to take you to the main setting. Then, you’ll walk through the Atrium, home to actors and entertainers playing out individual Star Wars plots with the intention of getting you involved as an extra cast member and taking this concept of themed Orlando lodging to another level. Don’t expect anything overly familiar: plotlines here develop organically, depending on how you and the other guests play back. It’s all part of the fun.

Learn how to use a lightsaber

You’ll get lightsaber training and opportunities to block asteroids, steer the ship out of harm’s way and blast lasers at your opponents. Throughout your time here, you’ll also be able to wander around the Starcruiser hotel and find your way into the restricted areas like the cargo hold, brig, and the engineering bay.

Interaction never ends throughout the stay

Neon lights and futuristic decor just add to the immersivity – something that doesn’t disappear until you’ve officially exited the Halcyon at the end of your stay. Each room at the Starcruiser hotel will have you waking up thinking you’ve actually been transported into a new dimension, with pod-like designs, spaceship-esque decor, and functional elements that stay firm as you jet off into space.

Interactive communal areas exist throughout the hotel

Wander through the communal areas and you’ll see metal-toned doorways requiring secret codes. Peep behind to see lightsaber duels or Resistance allies sneaking inside. Attention to detail is key here, with all signs written both in English and the Aurebesh alphabet.

Dress up as a Star Wars character

You’re encouraged to dress up during your time here, something that’ll also help you to fit in among fellow cast members, both working in and staying at the hotel. Forgot to bring your favorite Star Wars outfit? You’ll find a whole range to add to your collection in the gift shop.

Pod-like bedroom with double bed

Sure, the package deal might be slightly sky-higher than your usual two-night Disney World stay but, with meals included and a fully immersive experience from start to finish, it’s an unmissable adventure for all Star Wars fans to enjoy.

And, of course, when you’ve finished the whole experience, you can head down to the Galaxy’s Edge park in Disney World to enjoy everything else Disney has to offer, or take a break from the parks and do something not theme park-related.

Prices for the Star Wars Starcruiser Hotel start at $4,809 for two people, or $5,999 for a family of four, based on weeknight stays, but can go up to $20,000 for the highest-end suites.
