Seattle may be drizzly, but it’s also filled with exciting experiences. An abundance of parks, the historic Pike Place Market, eateries galore, the very first Starbucks, along with lots of other top-rated coffee shops and renowned seafood restaurants that can easily fill a week’s itinerary. Being in such an interesting city wouldn’t be the same if not staying in equally as awesome lodging. Airbnb has you covered, and these are the coolest ones in Seattle.

Feel the old school yet modern flare within this sleek 1957 El Rey, which is quite similar to the Airstream. Inside has a bright but straight forward aesthetic with wood, light colors, and some orange accents for fun. Set within a backyard in Seattle, you still have plentiful space to lounge in the fresh air. The owner notes that a cannabis shop is right down the road—just be sure to have your fun outside of the renovated quarters.
A precious backyard cottage in the neighborhood of Ballard is the perfect fit for minimalists looking to stay in a walkable area—downtown Seattle is a quick drive away. A kitchen, bathroom, living room and ladder accessible loft are tucked within the blue escape. A generous deck with privacy fencing, bistro table seating with umbrella shading, and, wait for it, a bubbling hot tub make for the perfect place to wind down after all that walking.
Absolutely brimming with eclectic quirky charm, this loft apartment overlooks Capitol Hill. Books are tucked tightly along shelves over a keyboard, and a velvety vintage couch sits in front of spritely pink drapes. Climb the ladder to reach the snug loft, and enjoy prepping simple meals in the purple countered kitchenette. But our favorite spot within the space is the balcony with bar-style seating, which overlooks the skyline that is as close as it looks. Imagine sipping locally roasted coffee out here.
Welcome to Tipsy, the tiny house, where nearly every square inch is covered in reclaimed wood—it just works. Enjoy exploring the extensive restaurants, markets and shops of West Seattle while having direct access via bus to the center of downtown. Architecturally designed by the hosts, the modern abode is a downright awesome place to be when the iconic rain showers sprinkle through, as you can watch drops drizzle off the loft skylights, while the calming sound of it pelting on the roof will put you right to sleep.
Capturing the pleasantly obscure Seattle nature is this little “urban cottage”, featuring bright color pallets and barn doors that open your bedroom to the fresh air. Don’t mind the funky camel figure peering toward your dreamy Nest foam bed, just drink in the naturalistic bamboo floors and cedar accents. While being a wonderful place for the artistic mind to escape, this Airbnb is in the Wallingford neighborhood, with plenty of places to grab a foodie-approved meal or craft beer. Or you could retreat into a complimentary yoga session at the onsite studio.
The inside may be a little bare-bones, in a good way. But the fact that this place is floating on the water gives it its over the top, cool factor. Inside you’ve got all the basics, but outside on the newly completed rooftop deck is where it’s at—we highly suggest a sunrise coffee moment up here. The host has thought of everything to ensure a phenomenal experience on Lake Union and even has provided a kayak for some water exploration. On top of everything else, you can see the Space Needle from the deck.
Seattle has some pretty neat beach areas in addition to the iconic offerings of the city. This refined lower unit of a beachside gem along Beach Drive, not too far from the busier Alki Avenue, is the perfect place to take in the refreshing waters. The deck has unobstructed views, and a scenic hot tub awaits. Inside, nearly floor to ceiling windows reveal the grandeur mountain and water views to the living space and kitchen—it’s magical.
Once simply a camper, now a stunning glamping space that basically could be dubbed a tiny home. Conveniently situated in North Seattle, great eats and drinks are minutes from your vintage 1980s trailer. Looking more like something that belongs in a magazine, this affordable stay is the way to go when looking for elegance, privacy, and proximity, with a touch of nostalgia tossed in.
Not just a houseboat, but a 1988 Nordic tug boat complete with a traditional wooden steering wheel, and it’s located on Lake Union. You’ll instantly be swooning over the intact aesthetics of this beloved boat. The floating retreat is located near unique neighborhoods and top places to grab some amazing food, or you could just chill here for days, which is tempting. But this little tug is an interesting way to lodge, quite close to central Seattle.
Okay, so we love houseboats, because they are super cool, and you can’t always stay in one! Christmas-y colors and a vintage interior make the Sugar Shack stand out along the Lake Union marina. On top, there’s a fabulous deck with views of the city, and the Space Needle can easily be seen as well. Below is even more deck space for enjoying the lake atmosphere, rain or shine. Two bikes are available for exploring the nearby sites, and a kayak is onboard too. The hosts have left behind notes to help you navigate the small living space while having the best relaxing time.
The curb appeal of this Airbnb Plus cottage is fairytale-like, with bundles of flowers, stone walkways and rock stairs leading to the central Seattle haven. Inside all the comforts are offered, from a full kitchen to laundry space. But you’ll likely want to open the French doors to connect with the outdoor garden, or even just read a book at the small table outside, which could also be the perfect spot for a candlelit dinner.
