North Maui is home to the very aptly named Pinnacle Escape From Reality. A modern luxury hilltop estate, it offers an unobstructed 180-degree view of the ocean, part of the island Molokai, the Maui mountains and central valley. To the east, Haleakala comes into view. It accommodates up to four, with three bedrooms and four bathrooms, while featuring a wide range of amenities among 3,100 square feet of space. There’s a gourmet kitchen, flat-screen TV with TIVO and a DVD player as well as smaller TVs in the kitchen and master bath, Wi-Fi, central A/C and stereo wired throughout the house (including the lanai).
Often named among the top Airbnbs on Maui, the Gingerbread House is a 1930s renovated studio cottage. It sits within a lush gated property along the rural northwest slope of Haleakala on East Maui. Just 10 minutes from the beach, the 4.5 acres of grounds have a seasonal stream, an organic veggie start farm and lots of fruit trees like mango, lilikoi (passion fruit) papaya, banana, lilikoi (passion fruit), coffee, oranges, lemons, guava, coconuts and more. When it’s in season, you can even pick your own.
The house itself smells heavenly thanks to the cedar interior and has lots of windows for enjoying the view along with a small kitchenette and a custom-tiled bathroom. It also includes an outdoor patio that sits underneath a tree canopy for shade and is adjacent to The Sacred Garden, which has walking labyrinths, lily ponds and meditation zones. It has an interesting history too – the late Jimi Hendrix stayed here in the early ’70s while filming “Rainbow Bridge.”
This Lahaina rental offers a stay on the beach – and while it’s close to downtown, the ocean is just 23 steps from its door. Located in a beautiful, gated Puamana community, it was recently remodeled and provides amazing unobstructed views of the Pacific, colorful sunsets and winter whale watching. Guests can enjoy beachcombing, snorkeling or surfing right in the backyard. It accommodates up to eight guests, with three bedrooms, five beds and three bathrooms, along with all the usual comforts of home like a kitchen and full-size washer and dryer. The community includes shared facilities, with three pools, a tennis court and badminton court.

This Airbnb is just steps from the sandy beaches of Paia on the north shore, including the long stretch of white sands at Baldwin Beach that is ideal for strolling, while being within walking distance to shops and eateries. Enjoy spectacular views as well as a 50-foot lap pool and hot tub that are nestled in between the ocean and the house. The Bamboo Temple offers an eco-retreat known as the “Greenest Spot on Maui.” This is the place to stay if you’re looking for something more adventurous where you can truly immerse yourself in the nature of the islands.
