Gaylord Palms in Orlando is arguably the most festive hotel in Florida, famous for hosting its annual ICE! event that brings holiday cheer to another level.
In 2022, the theme is centered around Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, where you can see this heart-warming story come to life through interactive ice sculptures, all carved from two million pounds of ice. You’ll see the story of the Grinch in larger-than-life sculptures and discover a 20,000-square-foot immersive walk-through experience.
There’s a celebration of cultures through holiday scenes and a chance to travel to the North Pole to meet Santa and his elves. The kids will delight at the hand-carved scenes from the heart-warming holiday movie, while Christmas displays provide plenty of opportunities for a photo op. A Frostbite Factory boasts a live carving zone that showcases the immense talent of these artisans, and you can admire their work at the crystal-clear ice Nativity scene.
While Floridians might fear the frigid 9-degree temperature, Gaylord has you covered with coats and gloves that are provided. You never know what festive fun you might encounter, as previous events also included a light show, live performances, gingerbread crafting, and meet and greet with Dreamworks characters.
Gaylord Palms hosts an array of other events the family might be interested in attending, from the acrobatic Cirque Dreams Unwrapped show to a choreographed lighting show that is set around the six-story-high Christmas tree.
