During the high season from October through April, you can join daily activities here, such as dances, games, and bus tours. Located at 3451 South Sa Joaquin Road in Tucson, the Diamond J RV Park is a welcoming place to set up camp and enjoy a relaxing vacation. The park offers premium, standard, and pull-through sites in different sections of the park and at different prices. Daily, monthly, and yearly rates are available here. The Cactus Country RV Resort is a 55+ RV park that’s north of Exit 275 on I-10 and just east of Tucson. However, travelers with children can stay here for up to one week. It’s located at 10195 South Houghton Road in Tucson and offers 30/50-amp full hookup sites, as well as tent camping, group tent sites, pull-through sites, and park model rentals. If you stay for a month or longer, the electricity is metered and billed. Located at 11300 South Houghton Road, the RV Park at the Pima County Fairgrounds offers full hookup sites, as well as a dump station, laundry room, and two dog parks. The amenities here also include a seasonal restaurant, meeting areas, Wi-Fi, fitness trail, showers, and picnic area. The Gilbert Ray Campground is at Tucson Mountain Park and on the west side of the Tucson Mountains. It’s about 13 miles from the city and welcomes RV campers. There are 130 RV sites here with 30-amp electric hookups. There are tent sites here too. You’ll find bathrooms, an RV dump site, and picnic tables here but no public shower facilities. Travelers are only allowed to stay here for seven days at a time, and peak season is from January through March. This is a very affordable place to camp in Tucson because the RV sites are just $20 per night. RV generators and wood fires are not permitted here.

Picacho Peak State Park is an amazing place to spend a day hiking, but you can extend your trip here by camping overnight in your RV. The Picacho Peak State Park Campground offers 85 electric sites for RV and tent camping. The RV camping fee here is $30 per night from October through May and $25 per night from June through September. There are group campsites available here too. You can make reservations for this campground online or by calling the state park.

Colossal Cave Mountain Park Campground

If you don’t mind being a little outside of Tucson but still in the vicinity, the Colossal Cave Mountain Park Campground is a fun place to be. The park is in Vail, 15 minutes southeast of Tucson, and offers cave tours to explore unique underground environments. There are also hiking, biking, and horseback opportunities here. RV camping is just $15 per night at the park and a great way to spend more time out under the amazing Sonoran skies in the Posta Quemada Canyon.
