While the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC has never been officially named “castle,” it’s one of the few in the U.S. that can be referred to as such. Many come to see the 250-room French chateau-style mansion and estate. It’s so vast it even has its own vineyard along with magnificent gardens spread across its 8,000-acre property. While you may not be able to call it your own, by staying at one of the hotels nearby, you’ll be in a perfect location to visit this American castle nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and get a glimpse of what it might be like to call it home.
Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast Inn
The Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast Inn offers an intimate stay with just eight guest rooms in the historic Montford district, a mile from the many outstanding restaurants downtown. It’s an adults-only property, providing a tranquil setting ideal for couples, and there are two rooms in the carriage house that are pet-friendly. Cedar Crest Inn
One of the best inns in Asheville, Cedar Crest Inn is set in a spectacular 1891 Queen Anne Mansion on two acres, only about a 10-minute walk from the mansion and gardens at Biltmore Estate. It’s the perfect complement to your visit, as it includes Victorian decor and period antiques with 12 individually decorated rooms. The Residences at Biltmore
Located less than a half-mile from the Biltmore Estate, The Residences at Biltmore offer spacious apartment-style rooms with full kitchens, electric fireplaces, washer/dryers, and balconies.
