The popular answer to that dilemma is of course, because it’s expensive enough to get married, much less to worry about travel too. If you don’t think it’s possible, we’re here to help. After all, your dream wedding doesn’t have to put you in debt.

Sure, some of us have expensive taste, and we long for the 5-star-resort-beach-front-mountain-view party of the lifetime, but that doesn’t mean we’re stuck living vicariously through Pinterest and our favorite romantic comedies.

Listed below we’ve collected what we think are top destination wedding venues that fit your budget, and will have both you and your beloved counting down the days.

To name just a few others, the Coco Plum Island Resort offers remarkably affordable wedding and vacation packages, earning it a spot on Trip Advisor’s “Top Hotels for Romance in Belize” list. Likewise, another TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice winner, Chabil Mar in Palencia, Belize is another decadent venue that compromises neither budget nor scenery. The Xanadu Island Resort and its 18 cozy rooms sits along Ambergris Caye, and offers an affordable wedding package that includes all the bells and whistles.

Destin, Florida (Hotel Prices & Photos)

Destin, Florida has everything you want in a Florida beach wedding (white sandy beaches, clear blue water, palm trees) without the South Beach price tag. For instance, The Emerald Grand at HarborWalk Village is a popular wedding spot in the area. Prices dip even lower in the off season so if you are really looking for a bargain, head that way after tourist season is over. The exterior is that of a true high-end resort, with a gorgeous view of the harbor that screams romance.

Negril, Jamaica (Hotel Prices & Photos)

The Seven Mile Beach, low room rates, the best seafood you’ve ever had…sound pretty appealing? Jamaica is your destination wedding heaven at a low cost. Affordable resorts aren’t uncommon, with the Rockhouse Hotel boasting rooms at 1/3 of the average prices, and limits itself to only 20 weddings per year. Public transport is simple, affordable and abundant, so you and your guests can go come and go as they please about town. The affordable price of accommodations makes up for the lack of international airport in Negril. Travelers have to land at Montego bay and shuttle over to Negril.

O’ahu, Hawaii (Hotel Prices & Photos)

Beautiful resorts may seem like they’re a dime a dozen in Hawaii…but which one will actually help you save a dime? There are several affordable options for the beach-bound couple where the scenery provides the atmosphere free of charge. The Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is no exception, with gorgeous terrace ceremonies and indoor reception packages starting at around $1,000 for 4 hours. The nearby Hilton Waikiki Beach can be more pricey but offers many location options within the resort. They also are willing to negotiate rental fees in the way of meeting food and drink minimums.

Waitsfield, Vermont (Hotel Prices & Photos)

Vermont has long since lost its status as a “well-kept secret,” for engaged couples looking to travel. Lucky for you, it doesn’t mean you have to max out your credit cards. Vermont also happens to be top spot for to-die-for barn and farm weddings. Vermont State Parks offer several affordable venues, as they do at a nearby Fine Arts College, and more.

The Skinner Barn is likewise gorgeous if you’re looking for an indoor venue to host your reception. The $3,700 fee covers many of the wedding staples, but is not wholly all-inclusive. If you want something more inclusive, the Scott Farm Orchard has mountainous views and lush gardens, with full packages starting around $3,500. Both venues are at the higher end of what you might consider “Budget,” but feature breathtaking views and are available at the same price all year long.

Lake Tahoe, California (Hotel Prices & Photos)

Looking for a Rustic Alpine lodge style venue that is also budget friendly? That’s going to be tough, but not impossible. Remember to focus your search, because Lake Tahoe has several venues with price tags in the tens-of-thousands range. Lucky for you, when you’re in a place as beautiful as Lake Tahoe, you don’t have to opt for the Ritz Carlton grand ballroom, because the attraction is natural beauty, and that my friend is free of charge.

Lake Tahoe venues range from beaches to mountain tops, to gorgeous lake overlooks.  The Olympic Village Inn is a great option for locals or out-of-towners. The gorgeous scenery provides you with a luxurious setting that will save money on expensive decorations. Not too shabby for arguably the most beautiful lake backdrop a wedding can have. It also makes for breathtaking photos that last a lifetime.

North Carolina (Hotel Prices & Photos)

If you are interested in having a beachfront experience near the North Carolina topography, then the Shell Island Resort at Wrightsville resort is a past Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice winner and is reasonably priced despite North Carolina’s recent rise the ranks as one of the top spots for a  destination wedding. If you are more interested in lush foliage and Carolina mountains, consider Luna’s Trail Farm & Event Center. This large capacity waterfront property offers lodging, picturesque views, lush meadows and indoor shelter.

The Sea Ranch Resort combines the best of both worlds at a fraction of the cost of some of the area’s more older, popular venues. The interior, while not pristine decorated, is clean and welcoming. Likewise the exterior won’t serve as any jawdropping photo backdrops, but leave that to the beachfront view. The sandy beach and cascading waves make this a top spot for a destination wedding, with a price that is nearly unbeaten. During the off-season winter months, weekday rental price drops to $400, while prime season Saturday prices never go above $2,000. The rental fee does include tables, chairs and white linens, which gives you plenty of chance to tailor the setting to your taste.

Remember: It’s important to pick a destination that fits the theme of your wedding. You shouldn’t spend time stressing out over how to make the venue match your theme. That being said, it won’t be easy to pull off a ball gown and white gloves on the beach. What makes a destination wedding affordable is often the fact that you won’t have to decorate, but instead let the natural environment around you be the decor.

Also, prices vary depending on the season. With this in mind, sure it’s always going to be cheaper to visit Florida during hurricane season, but that doesn’t mean it’s what you want to do.
