Situated on over 1,000 acres of land in the Adirondacks, the Crown Plaza Lake Placid is a stunning resort that offers a perfect getaway. There are lots of ways to get active and have fun here, including golf, tennis, cross-country skiing, and swimming. However, this is also a retreat destination where you can plan to do nothing at all and truly enjoy some quiet time by the lake. It’s in the heart of the Olympic village and offers comfortable accommodations for families, business travelers, and anyone looking for a change of scenery.
The Crown Plaza Lake Placid offers views of the lakes, High Peaks, and Whiteface Mountains. It’s a centrally located resort on pristine Adirondack land that you’ll quickly fall in love with. Although Lake Placid is a common winter destination, there are fun things to do here during any season.
The Crown Plaza Lake Placid has various types of accommodations available to suit your travel style. There are Adirondack Wing Suites, Tower Suites, Adirondack Wing Rooms, main hotel rooms, and family units in the main hotel. For a little extra space and privacy, you can also stay in the Grandview Cottage, the chalets, and the Lake Placid Club Condos.
One of the best reasons to stay at the Crown Plaza is for all the resort amenities. At the resort, you’ll find four unique restaurants, a great room bar, fitness room, indoor pool, and whirlpool. There’s also an XC ski and snowshoe center here, as well as a business center, event space, and in-town shuttle available.
Another great reason to stay here is to play golf. The resort has 45 holes of championship golf to enjoy at the historic Lake Placid Club. The Links Course is a par 71 course, and the Mountain Course has smaller greens and more tree-lined fairways. The Pristine Nine has seven par 3s and two par 4s to round out the trio of courses here.
We also love the private beach at the resort to truly enjoy the summer season. The beach is about a half-mile from the hotel. After a relaxing day at the beach, you can enjoy a meal at MacKenzie’s Restaurant, which has a grand fireplace and excellent wine list. Weddings are also popular here if you’re planning for a big day.
