Tucked within a 1940s Art Deco building just a short distance from Ocean Drive, Shelborne South Beach has a sparkling outdoor pool for swimming and relaxing. Occasionally, a DJ or three-piece instrumental band play music by the pool, although it’s not rowdy like some of the other noteworthy hotels in the area. There’s a spa for decadent treatments from head to toe that can be enjoyed in your room, beside the pool, or beachside. Biltmore, a Coral Gables, Florida resort
The Biltmore is a classic. Opened in 1926, the highlight is its 22,000-square-foot swimming pool where actor Johnny Weissmuller, better known as Tarzan, was once a swimming instructor.
