Cedar Point is one of the most exciting places in America to visit if you enjoy thrill rides, roller coasters, and family-friendly fun. It is the roller coaster capital of the country with 18 world-class roller coasters that reach speeds up to 120 miles per hour and even the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in the world called Steel Vengeance. To be close to all the action, you’ll want to find a hotel nearby so that you can stay and play for as long as possible. Here are a few recommended hotels near Cedar Point to choose from.

Since Hotel Breakers’ 2018 expansion, this hotel offers more guest rooms and suites and is just steps away from Cedar Point. Many of the rooms have waterfront views and balconies, and the hotel has a beachfront bar, live entertainment, two outdoor pools, an outdoor water playground, and an indoor pool. Beach games, outdoor fire pits, a fitness room, and an arcade are other perks of staying here. You can rent jet skis and go parasailing while staying here, eat at the on-site restaurants, get one-hour exclusive early entry into Cedar Point, and take advantage of shuttle service throughout the Cedar Point peninsula. That early access perk helps you get a jump-start on the day with access to 20 rides, including Steel Vengeance.
Also, just a short walk from Cedar Point is Lighthouse Point, which has full hookup RV sites, waterfront cottages, inland cabins, and deluxe cabins. These are great options for families and have outdoor seating, charcoal grills, property-wide Wi-Fi, and an outdoor pool. There are quaint cottages and cabins and RV sites. You can enjoy parasailing and jet ski rentals, a shuffleboard court, Domino’s pizza delivery, and outdoor water play area. You can also stay at the Baymont by Wyndham Sandusky, which is about five minutes away from Cedar Point. This hotel offers free breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi as well as a fitness center. Meanwhile, Hotel Kilbourne is less than 10 minutes from Cedar Point and offers a beautiful waterfront location in Sandusky. There are only nine rooms here, as well as two public venues for drinking and enjoyment. Hotel Kilbourne is in the heart of the town’s entertainment district, so it’s easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and cultural activities. You’ll only about three minutes away from Cedar Point when you book a room at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sandusky. This hotel is located on Sandusky Bay and has waterfront views. You’ll also be close to the Jackson Street Pier, downtown shops and museums, and lots of local businesses. Perks of this Holiday Inn Express and Suites are the free breakfast daily, fitness center, indoor pool, and free Wi-Fi. For families, cribs are available and the large guest rooms come with two queen beds, in-room coffee makers, and irons and ironing boards. It’s also fun to stay at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay, which is only about six minutes away by car from Cedar Point. This is an indoor water park resort that is a haven for family fun. There are spacious rooms and suites, a 38,000 square foot indoor water park, and a 6,000 square foot arcade. Families also love staying here because there’s a craft and activity center, multiple restaurants, retail shops, marina nearby, and spaces for birthday parties. Hotel rooms have private decks or balconies, free Wi-Fi, and in-room microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. For large families, book a room that has access to an adjoining room. Dining options are Mango Mike’s breakfast buffet, Quaker Steak & Lube for burgers and ribs, and Bay Harbor at the marina for seafood. Kalahari Resorts Sandusky is a little further from Cedar Point, about 15 minutes away, but another really great place to stay if you want to squeeze both roller coasters and a water park into your trip. This water park destination has a hotel with various types of rooms to accommodate all groups. A good option for families is the two-room family suite with plenty of beds, a fireplace, and two full bathrooms. There’s also a nice spa at this resort that accommodates both adults and kids. Other activities to check out are the safari adventure park, big game room, mini golf, mini bowling, laser tag, 7-D motion theater, and virtual reality experiences.
Sawmill Creek Resort is only about 15 minutes away from Cedar Point and a great place to stay for relaxation and breathtaking beauty.
