Michelle Washmuth

Michelle Washmuth has been an editor for Trips to Discover since 2022. A born-and-raised Floridian, Michelle now lives in Colorado (but gets back to the Sunshine State frequently, especially during winter!) Michelle has a passion for travel and enjoys getting out in nature to explore the outdoors with her family. You can find her spending summer and winter breaks road-tripping in a teardrop trailer in search of dog-friendly and kid-friendly camping spots. Her trips have spanned the globe from Alaska to Italy, but her happy place is on the water in the Florida Keys! Michelle is a former journalist who has been featured on numerous TV and newspaper websites throughout her news career, which spanned nearly a decade. She covered breaking news and everything from rocket launches to major trials to the latest in theme parks for the ABC and CBS affiliate stations in Orlando. As a freelance writer and editor, Michelle has covered local events and things to do for parents and pet owners, as well as working for government agencies and non-profits. Michelle has a Master of Business Administration from Regis University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Central Florida. Before joining Trips To Discover, Michelle worked in higher education marketing and communications as a web director/marketing strategist. Making a shift to the freelancer life in 2020, she writes and edits while traveling and teaching Communications courses for Southern New Hampshire University.
