If you’re under the impression that all milkshakes are the same and just come in flavors like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, then you owe it to yourself to take a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona and visit Hotel Valley Ho. Not only is this a vibrant and hip place to stay if you’re tired of the standard chain hotels, but there’s also a restaurant onsite called ZuZu that’s doing some really impressive things with ice cream.
Named after a beloved mother and grandmother, ZuZu is a restaurant that embodies the spirit of Arizona in terms of friendliness, history, and never taking yourself too seriously.
Starting every day at 2pm, you can stop by ZuZu for a delicious dessert concoction called the Show Stopper Shake. But this is no ordinary milkshake because the onsite pastry chef, Audrey Enriquez, takes dessert to a whole new level with creative ingredients and Instagram-worthy potential. These are ultimate delights for the senses and a true indulgence that you have to see, taste, smell, and touch to believe.
What’s even better is that Show Stopper Shake flavors change every month, so you can try a new and amazing creation every 30 or so days! One new shake flavor is cookies and cream, which includes an “Ore-Ho” cookie, fudge sauce, milk crumb, chocolate dipped Oreo cookie, and whipped cream. It’s pretty easy to mistake one of these shakes for a cup of pie, and previous shake themes have featured banana cream pie, peanut butter and pretzel, and strawberry shortcake.
You may feel a bit overwhelmed when your first Show Stopper Shake arrives at ZuZu, but ride the wave of adventure and your taste buds will soon be thanking you. This shake also presents some great opportunities to share your shake on Instagram, like the posts featured here. In the past, ZuZu has even run contests to have your shake featured by tagging @HotelValleyHo on Twitter and Instagram and using the hashtag #ZuZuShowStopperShake. Show Stopper Shakes cost $16 at ZuZu.
But of course, ZuZu serves up much more than these ultra-impressive milkshakes too. You can stop by on Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm to 11pm for live music played by local talent, or join the Monday Night Chef’s Table once a month for a four-course menu, beverage pairing, and conversation with the chef and special guests. ZuZu is also a fun place to swing by for happy hour on weekdays from 4pm to 7pm for cocktails and small plates to share. Come by for the shake and stay for all of the other great things going on at ZuZu!
