Adrenaline junkies and daredevils can soar to new heights this summer at two new record-breaking attractions in Orlando, Fla. Thrill seekers can experience the world’s tallest freestanding drop tower and the world’s tallest slingshot ride at Orlando’s ICON Park, an entertainment complex that features more than 40 restaurants, bars, shops and amusement park rides.
The new record-setting drop tower will take 30 brave riders up 430 feet to see Orlando’s skyline before dropping them 40 stories for a thrilling ride. The new slingshot ride will be the world’s tallest at 300 feet, launching two fearless riders up 450 feet into the air at speeds of up to 100 mph, according to the park’s press release.

The two towering attractions will join ICON Park’s other sky-high rides like The Wheel, a 400-foot observation wheel, and the 400-foot Orlando StarFlyer. However, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, you can explore the ocean at SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium or pose with your favorite celebrities at Madame Tussauds Orlando.
One of Orlando’s most unique destinations, ICON Park combines dining, shopping and entertainment all in one place on International Drive. It offers exciting things to do besides the region’s popular theme parks for both travelers and locals and is a great addition to anyone’s itinerary on their next trip to The City Beautiful.
