Berlin marks two important anniversaries in 2019: the centenary of the Bauhaus and 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Bauhaus Festival will take place on January 16 through 24 in 2019, but if you can’t visit until later in the year, there are plenty of other reasons to come. Berlin Mitte is the city’s historical heart where you’ll find major sites like the Brandenburg Gate, the only surviving city gate and an important symbol of Berlin, symbolizing reunification after dividing East and West Berlin for decades.
