Hotel Icon is a highly-rated hotel in Houston that presents the same sleek appeal as other city hotels, for half the price (or more). Decor stays true to the building’s original purpose—in the early 1900s it served as a bank. Rainfall showers, clawfoot tubs and ornate furnishings create a lavish feel. The rail system can be accessed easily, but folks who want to soak in the atmosphere can easily get to major shopping and restaurants nooks in 10 minutes on foot. Onsite, guests can enjoy local meals with local Texan ingredients—so staying in at night, one can still get a taste of the area.

History is evident in this gorgeous glamorous home. Formerly a Prohibition-era meat store, an architect came in and completely reimagined the space into one of the most unique homes in Houston. Brick walls still remain intact, and even meat locker doors have been placed on some of the rooms! A massive soaking tub sits in the middle of one of the suites, and various courtyards and outdoor space pop up in the most unexpected places. If you’re looking for something more out of the box but still breathtaking, you’ve found it.
