Die-hard college football fans will descend upon Shenandoah, Texas, this December for the 2019 Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, and the ultimate tailgate party will be ready and waiting.

Shenandoah will host theΒ NCAA Division III football championship game at the Woodforest Bank Stadium on Dec. 20, 2019, and the city plans to welcome visitors and fans with Southern hospitality and plenty of fun at the Stagg Bowl FanFest Tailgate Party before the teams face off on the football field. This pregame party is sure to score points with fans of both teams, as the tailgate will feature a concert by Texas country singer Jason Cassidy, great food and beverages from several Texas restaurants and local vendors, a car show, family-friendly entertainment and games, Christmas-themed Texas longhorn photo-op, and much more β and it is all free with the purchase of a Stagg Bowl ticket!

In true Texas fashion, no tailgate is complete without barbecue — and this party will feature award-winning fare from Gettin’ Sauced Cookers. This competition barbecue team from Cypress, Texas, isnβt just blowing smoke. They specialize in brisket and pork, and you can taste their creations during the tailgate. Gettin’ Sauced Cookers began in 2009 and has cooked for events and competitions like the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, but also have used their culinary talents for good such as feeding several thousand people during Hurricane Harvey. In addition to barbecue, fans can sample the flavors from other local restaurants participating in the tailgate as well.

While fans chow down before the big game, Shenandoahβs tailgate will set the stage for the Jason Cassidy Band. Cassidy is a country music artist with a huge Texas following, three No. 1 hits in Texas, two Billboard charting singles, and six top 10 songs on the Texas Charts.

And while thereβs sure to be plenty of photo opps at the game, none will be quite as Insta-worthy as the two longhorns from Hempstead, Texas, and the monster truck named Southern Patriot that will be on hand to really give this party some Texas flair. Be sure to sport your team colors and dust off your cowboy boots for these pictures.

The tailgate will begin at 3 p.m. on Dec. 20, in the southside of the stadium parking lot, in front of the Conroe ISD Natatorium.
