Found on the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, visitors can visit the top of the San Jacinto Monument to catch great views of Houston and the surrounding battlefield. At 567 feet tall, architectural nerds will enjoy the fact that this monument is more than 10 feet taller than its Washington counterpart. As if the San Jacinto Monument couldn’t get any more spectacular, it’s also topped with a 220-ton star in honor of the Battle of San Jacinto, a pivotal battle in the Texas Revolution.
