Royal Sonesta Chicago River North is a top family-friendly hotel and is pet-friendly without size or weight restrictions. There are also no extra fees to bring your pet. The hotel’s concierge team can arrange for pet care services too while you are out exploring the city. To take your pup to a nearby dog park, head to 465 E. Illinois Street, which is about seven to eight blocks away. This River North boutique hotel is also popular because of its 17th-floor pool.
Pets also stay free at Virgin Hotels, which is great to know if you’re visiting Chicago. There are no size or breed restrictions here either. Dogs who stay here will get a comfortable dog bed, food and water bowls, treats, and a stylish bandana. This Virgin hotel is home to a fitness center and onsite dining and drinking options too.
You can also stay at the Park Hyatt Chicago with your pet and enjoy special amenities, including plush beds. The hotel actually has its own resident dog, a pug named Parker. Guests pay a $100 pet fee, but that entire fee is donated to PAWS animal shelter. Pets need to be 50 pounds or less to stay here, and an additional deep-cleaning fee is required if you stay for seven nights or more. Other amenities at this hotel are a pool, fitness center, Camp Hyatt for kids, one of the city’s top-rated spas, an on-site restaurant, and business and meeting facilities.
The Guesthouse Hotel has been voted one of the most pet-friendly hotels in the U.S. and welcomes dogs of all types and sizes. There is no extra charge to bring your dog here. Your pup will receive treats, a bed, bowls, and waste baggies. Nearby, you can check out the Urban Pooch Canine Life Center, Montrose Dog Beach, and Puptown Dog Run. This is also a good place to stay with kids because there are kid-friendly activities offered onsite and nearby.
Aloft is a Marriott brand hotel that welcomes dogs in the River North neighborhood. One pet is allowed per room, and the hotel has an Arf Program that allows dogs to stay free and receive a bed, bowl, and treats. Aloft Chicago Downtown River North has a fitness center, room service, and full American breakfast available.
Pets up to 40 pounds are welcome at the W Chicago City Center. Only one pet is allowed per room, and the pet fees here are a $125 fee and a $15 deposit with a signed wavier. This Marriott hotel has an onsite fitness center, 24-hour room service, and enjoy a full American breakfast is available.
The Palmer House is a good hotel to bring your larger dog to because it welcomes dogs up to 75 pounds. This is also a family-friendly hotel that offers cribs, high chairs, and children’s menus for families traveling with little ones. The hotel also has a spa and full-service 24-hour health club to encourage your wellness while traveling. The on-site Lockwood Restaurant is a premier downtown dining destination, while the Potter’s Chicago Burger Bar is a popular spot, and in-room dining is also an option.
If you have two dogs, you can bring them to stay with you at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. There is a $100 one-time, non-refundable pet fee that applies per stay. It’s also important that all pets are leashed or carried while passing through common areas of the hotel. This is an exquisite Gold Coast hotel that also has an Italian steakhouse, café, bar, and rooftop. Guests can also visit the spa, indoor pool, and expanded fitness center with city views while staying here. Kids enjoy staying here too because the hotel provides child-sized bathrobes, children’s toiletries, and child spa treatments.
Meanwhile, the Blackstone Autograph Collection is another good hotel for larger dogs because up to two dogs that weigh 75 pounds or less are welcome here. The pet fee is $75, and pets must be attended to at all times and either in a crate or on a leash while in public areas. This pet-friendly hotel has room service, a delicious tapas menu at Mercat a la Planxa, and a fitness center onsite. You’ll love being on the Cultural Mile with your pup and seeing the great views of Lake Michigan and Grant Park.
This Hilton hotel in the city allows larger dogs too up to 75 pounds. Pets can stay at the Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile Suites with a $75 non-refundable fee. The hotel is adjacent to the John Hancock building and is an all-suite hotel near all the city’s main attractions. It has a top-floor indoor pool, Mirai Sushi Gold Coast restaurant serving Japanese cuisine and all-day dining at Southern Cut Barbecue.
Another pet-friendly W hotel in the city is the W Chicago – Lakeshore, which is on Lake Shore Drive. You can bring up to two pets per room here when you pay the $100 deep-cleaning fee and the $25 nightly pet fee per pet. Enjoy the heated pool, seasonal cuisine at CURRENT, cocktails in the Living Room, and the workout equipment at the onsite gym.
