The unique pizza shop is a must visit for those traveling through Mesa, housed in a 17,000-square-foot building just off the southwest corner of Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive. You’d be wrong in thinking that its delicious pizza pies are the primary draw, as owners think of Organ Stop Pizza as more of an entertainment facility that serves good food.

You’ll be mesmerized by the grant Wurlitzer that sits regally on a tall pedestal at the front of the dining hall. Kick back at one of the long communal tables and listen to the sound of nearly 6,000 pipes, many of which light up in a dazzling array of colors to match the music’s tempo. Watch as the four turbine blowers generate airflow at 14,000 cubic feet per minute.

Pizza flavors come in all varieties, with regular toppings available, while gluten-free is also an option. Specialty pizzas include Hawaiian, Spicy Italian and Vegetarian and can be paired with mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini and fried mushroom appetizers. Indulge in spaghetti and meatballs or fill up with a Submarine sandwich. Soft drinks, draft beer and wines are available, and ice cream is given in generous portions to satisfy your sweet tooth.

The show is interactive and is based on audience requests, with “Phantom of the Opera” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo” being the most popular hits. It doesn’t matter if you’re 2 or 102, the shop’s lively atmosphere and excellent food will keep you entertained.

Before you leave, make sure to stop in the gift shop to browse the catalog of Organ Stop Recordings, as state-of-the-art equipment is used to capture the beautiful sounds of the organ and can be enjoyed at home. They also give back to the local community with a variety of events throughout the year, most recently their Christmas in July event to benefit a food bank.
