Going to a waterpark may not but your idea of fun on a rainy day or during the cold winter months. However, that will all change once America’s largest indoor waterpark opens in Round Rock, Texas this fall. Kalahari Round Rock waterpark will be Kalahari’s fourth waterpark location. And just as the slogan “everything’s bigger in Texas” goes, this will be Kalahari’s largest waterpark yet.
Expected to open on November 12, 2020, Kalahari Round Rock will feature 30 waterslides and 20 different pools and whirlpools for guests of all ages. To truly make this waterpark a destination, Kalahari is creating an experience here. So not only will there be a state-of-the-art waterpark, but guests can also enjoy a full-service resort and convention center, complete with a luxury spa, boutique shopping, and five restaurants. There will be plenty to do and experience at this 35-acre waterpark complex.
Kalahari has three other waterpark locations in the United States, being in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wisconsin. The new Texas park will have 223,000 square feet of waterpark space, just a bit more than Kalahari’s current largest waterpark in Pennsylvania, which spans 220,000 square feet.
No matter if you like to chill by the pool or partake in a thrilling waterslide, Kalahari will have it all. Adults will enjoy the adults-only grotto swim-up bar, while kids won’t stop raving about the rock climbing wall, Cheetah Race multi-person racing slide, or the exciting Barrelling Baboon slide!
As an African-themed resort, Kalahari Round Rock will have 22 incredible stone sculptures of African wildlife located throughout the complex. Thousands of pounds and with some sculptures up to 10 feet high, these works of art are sure to command your attention at the entrance, a fitting welcome for guests entering the largest waterpark in the country.
This massive waterpark is sure to be an incredible family-friendly attraction in the Round Rock area. After a long day at the waterpark, there will be nothing better than to rest your head in one of the 975 hotel rooms here at Kalahari. Hotel guests will have access to the waterpark included in their stay.
