It all starts with fresh herbs, lettuce and other organic veggies are sourced from the restaurant’s very own garden. Other local sources contribute to the tasty menu, and the vibrant flavors depict just how fresh and real each menu item is.

There’s a reason celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld drop into Home grown. Pancakes, French toast and the basic egg breakfasts are drool worthy, but the fluffy, moist biscuits are on an “other worldly” level. Perhaps the best biscuit entree is the Comfy Chicken Biscuit with a huge breaded filet all smothered in creamy white gravy. The Vegetarian Biscuit and Gravy puts a lighter spin on things with sauteed mushrooms and spinach. Another standout is the BBQ Shrimp and Cheese Grits with homemade bbq sauce and bacon.

Pimento cheese is a must for breakfast or lunch. Try the basic sandwich, scoop some onto a biscuit, or dip crackers into the heavenly concoction. Grant’s Stack incorporates pimento cheese with another Home grown favorite, fried green tomatoes, into a Texas toast sandwich with bacon. All of the sandwiches on the menu are spectacular, and made with a whole lot of southern flare.

Home grown’s green and white building is nestled along Memorial Drive, and it can be easy to miss, so keep an eye out for the sign. Inside, it’s like grandmas house with an artsy twist, thanks to wood paneling and handmade items from Sew Thrift 5 & Dime—the environment is all around adorable.
