Take your taste buds on a tour of some of Florida’s favorite breweries this spring during Capt. Hiram’s Brews Cruise Series. It’s the perfect recipe for beating the Florida heat, combining a leisure cruise through Indian River Lagoon with free samples of craft beer from a local brewery. During the Brews Cruise, a brewmaster from the featured brewery will be on board leading passengers through the tasting and highlighting the flavor profiles of each beer while you sit back, relax and take in the gorgeous surrounding waterways and wildlife. There’s truly no better way to explore the natural beauty and local flavors of Florida’s Treasure Coast.

The Brews Cruise will be held on select Saturdays in March and April from 4 – 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. The brews cruises will depart from the resort’s beautiful marina. Last year, the resort hosted several breweries on board the River Cruise, including Walking Tree Brewery, Pareidolia Brewing Co., Sailfish Brewing Co., Mash Monkeys Brewing Co., Hop Life Brewery, and Saltwater Brewery, just to name a few.

If you’d rather sip on chardonnay than crack open a craft brew, wine aficionados can also find their favorite blend this year aboard the River King. Capt. Hiram’s Resort is hosting two Wine & Cheese Cruises in March and April. This one and a half-hour tour includes a sampling of sweet and savory wine alongside exceptional cheese pairings. The menu includes varietals from across the U.S., many of which can be purchased while dining at the resort. During the cruise, you’ll be immersed into the wonderful world of wine as you float down the waterways of the Sebastian Inlet. The resort’s in-house wine expert and local distributors will be on board to guide you through each pairing, so everyone from novices to connoisseurs can find a wine to please their palate.

Capt. Hiram’s Resort is the largest resort on the Sebastian River and in addition to the seasonal cruises, its River King pontoon boat offers three eco-tours departing daily from the resort’s marina all year round. Passengers can see dolphins, manatees, migratory birds, and more on the two-hour Dolphin and Sebastian River Cruises earlier in the day. Meanwhile, nature enthusiasts will particularly enjoy the sunset cruise, which takes passengers to Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge that supports at least 14 federally threatened or endangered species.
