Gatlinburg is an ideal destination for a family vacation, whether “family” is just you and your partner or a big reunion with all the cousins. While it can be more challenging to find accommodation for a larger group of 10 or more, here in the Great Smoky Mountains, there are some fantastic cabin rentals available via Airbnb and Vrbo that are sure to fit the bill. Talk about space, this five-bedroom rental sleeps up to 19 guests and features lots of Smoky Mountain charm. Overlooking Mount Le Conte and the surrounding peaks, it includes a large patio with an outdoor pool surrounded by foliage. From the hot tub, you can soak while watching sunrises and sunsets behind the mountains. Spread over three levels, the cabin features huge wall-to-wall windows to bring nature in, along with a full kitchen, two cable TVs with DVD players, a game room with a pool table and foosball, Wi-Fi, and a washer/dryer.
Misty Hollow is ideal for a large group stay, less than 10 minutes from Great Smoky Mountain National Forest and only a few miles from downtown. The highlight is a large wrap-around deck with a magnificent view of the mountains that can be enjoyed from the bubbling hot tub. There’s also a charcoal/smoker grill for cookouts and chairs where you can sip your morning coffee. Pawnderosa Cabin is a luxurious five-bedroom log cabin that’s like staying in your own resort. It sleeps up to 20 and comes with a heated saltwater indoor pool where you can swim while gazing out at spectacular mountain views. There’s also a hot tub, sauna, a game room, and a theater room. Rocky Top Lookout is less than 15 minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Parkell and only a mile from Rocky Top Sports World and the popular Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Loop, a trail with over 100 galleries, studios, and shops along an eight-mile stretch. It boasts decks with rocking chairs where you can relax while listening to the birds by day and the frogs and crickets at night, along with a picnic table for alfresco dining.
