Movie lovers can keep their social distance by enjoying flicks from the comfort of their own vehicle and enjoy a real throwback to the 50’s era of the movie-going experience. There are usually two screens showing first-run movies, with double features seven nights a week. You can listen to the movie through your FM car radio.
The best part about it? Since film companies have postponed major movie release dates, Silvermoon is showing some of your favorite classic movies. While you won’t be able to catch the latest James Bond installation in a busy theater, you can re-watch some real goodies. It’s a budget-friendly activity too, as moviegoers aged 4-9 are just $2 and those 10+ are $6.
Show your kids the classics like “E.T.” and “Jurassic Park” or plan a date night and catch “The Money Pit” or “Fried Green Tomatoes”. Check their Facebook page for updates, as “Back to the Future”, “The Breakfast Club” and “Uncle Buck” are all in the rotation as well. With the kids out of school, you won’t even have to leave your car to enjoy a family night out.
You don’t even have to prepare snacks, as the snack bar has all your movie snack favorites, including handmade pizzas, delicious hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos, popcorn and candy. They even have a breakfast menu, while drink options include soft drinks, beer, juice and coffee.
Load up on snacks with your favorite treats at the snack bar, then get comfy in your vehicle with blankets and pillows for a trip down memory lane. Come early for a viewing good spot! You can even rent speakers from the theater for state-of-the-art sound so you don’t miss one of your favorite classic movie lines.
You can also check out some of Silvermoon’s other perks when they fully re-open, including its free flea markets held on Saturday and Sundays. Opening at 5am, you can turn a profit by selling unwanted items as a vendor or spend your morning browsing various bargains up for sale. Each week the merchandise changes, so you never know what treasures you will find! Check their Facebook page to see updates on when they might re-open.
