The Texas Hill Country has grown as a popular destination for wine lovers. However, within recent years, the craft beer scene has blossomed here, making the Texas Hill Country also a great destination for beer drinkers. To make the craft breweries more accessible, the Hill Country Craft Beer Trail was created to join the great beer breweries in Central Texas. Similar to the wine trail in the area, this craft beer trail unites a number of top-notch breweries, establishing the Hill Country as a beer destination.

The Hill Country Craft Beer Trail was created by the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and the New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau. Therefore it only makes sense that the town of New Braunfels is the epicenter of the trail. The town even has a strong craft beer history, with the first craft beer brewery established in 1847. Therefore, the center of the craft beer trail focuses on three New Braunfels breweries, New Braunfels Brewing, Guadalupe Brewing and Faust Brewing. However there are more than 15 Hill Country breweries involved in the trail.
You can choose to drive the trail yourself. However there are two bus shuttle services that make planning a breeze. No need to find a designated driver, as these bus services will transport you from one brewery to another all while you enjoy the beautiful Hill Country scenery. No matter what shuttle service you choose, between Rockin ‘R’ River Rides and OffRhodes Craft Beer Tours, you’re sure to have a wonderful time.
Regardless if you have time to visit three breweries or nine of them, there is a trail perfect for you. The Hill Country Craft Beer Trail’s website highlights the variety of trails available for beer lovers. Although many of the trails start and end in New Braunfels, some of them take you out to Austin, Fredericksburg and other surrounding area breweries.
From IPA lovers to stout snobs, you’re sure to find your new favorite beer from a brewery along the Hill Country Craft Beer Trail. With various trail options and more than a dozen breweries involved in the fun, the Hill Country Craft Beer Trail is putting Texas craft beer on the map.
