Formerly known as Iliada Studios, Iliada Sunset Suites is a magnificent property that was transformed recently into a more luxurious hotel with minimalist-style rooms that now include a honeymoon suite that has an outdoor Jacuzzi. Guests still enjoy the same breathtaking view of the sea and the famous ancient Temple of Apollo, along with some of the most awe-inspiring sunsets on the planet. There’s also a new pool. It’s all just a 5-minute walk to the center of Naxos Town and the waterfront promenade with its many shops and eateries. You’ll also get a delicious breakfast served right to your room every morning.
Located on one of the island’s most popular beaches, Plaka Beach, Glaronissi Beach Suites & Apartments is steps from pristine white sands with organized areas that include umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as a secluded stretch of beach popular with nudists. It doesn’t have a swimming pool, but the sea here is like a massive natural saltwater pool with its warm, pale turquoise waters. Rooms feature private balconies or terraces for enjoying a sea view, along with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini fridges, coffeemakers, and more. Naxian on the Beach Luxury Beach Hotel sits at the southern end of Plaka Beach, six miles south of Naxos Town. It provides an adults-only retreat with just 10 rooms, all of which come with private balconies and sea views. Relaxation can also be enjoyed from your own private indoor or outdoor Jacuzzi. It’s incredibly peaceful here with the focus on the outdoors. Umbrellas and lounge chairs are provided on the uncrowded sands and there’s a gorgeous pool lined with sunbeds. The thatched roof poolside Earth Bar serves smoothies, fresh juices, and a variety of cocktails that can be enjoyed on canopied decks overlooking the sea. Breakfast is complimentary and includes meats, eggs, fruits, yogurt, breads, cereals, and more. There’s no on-site spa, but yoga sessions are hosted a few times a week and massage scan be arranged. Boat trips, snorkeling, horseback riding, and hikes are all possible too.
Named one of the world’s best villa hotels by multiple publications, Kavos Naxos sits on a steep hillside surrounded by gardens. While it’s further back from the coast, it’s still within walking distance of sandy beaches. Clustered around a picturesque infinity pool and restaurant, the villas all have private, stone-walled terraces with vines and bougainvillea where cats often enjoy a nice nap. They include basic kitchens for putting together a picnic or salad, but the hotel offers a restaurant serving home-cooked meals in the evening.
The Glaros Boutique Hotel is nestled between Naxos Town and family-friendly Ágios Georgios Beach, while still being close to the center of town. While there isn’t a lot in the way of facilities, it does provide exacting design standards while staff go above and beyond to be helpful, providing insider advice on what to eat, routes for walking and cycling, as well as arranging car and scooter rentals. An outstanding buffet breakfast is available for an additional fee and the bar in the lobby has a good wine list. Close to the center of Naxos Town and the beach, the family-friendly Naxos Resort Beach Hotel offers a beautiful large outdoor pool with an adjacent children’s pool and hot tub, along with a poolside bar. There are lounge chairs and several thatched umbrellas for relaxing and the property includes an indoor hot tub, hammam, and sauna as well as a fitness center with some weight and cardio equipment. 18 Grapes is only steps from breathtaking Agios Prokopios beach and less than a 10-minute drive from Naxos Town. It offers an elegant getaway with fabulous sea views, VIP service, and private pools. Its main pool is the popular place to be, particularly cosmopolitan and lined with cabanas and loungers. There are a variety of room layouts, all of which are impressive but the most decadent feature perks like a sea-view Jacuzzi or a private plunge pool. Each one includes private furnished balconies, Nespresso coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, robes and slippers, and Korres bath products.
