The worlds of Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and other beloved DreamWorks Animation films will come to life this spring at the opening of America’s largest indoor water park. The new DreamWorks Animation Water Park will welcome guests on March 19 at the American Dream retail and entertainment complex in East Rutherford, N.J.
The attractions include Shrek’s Sinkhole Slammer, where guests can swirl through their favorite ogre’s swamp; Kung Fu Panda’s Temple of Awesomeness, where you can channel your inner Dragon Warrior with Po; and Far Far A Bay, the world’s largest indoor wave pool inspired by Shrek’s magical kingdom. But the fun doesn’t end there, with high-speed water slides themed after How To Train Your Dragon, Madagascar and more — perfect for the adrenaline junkies.
For those looking for a more laid-back experience, float down the Bubbly Lazy River, soak in the Forbidden Waters Hot Tubs, or get the royal treatment at King Julian’s Pineapple Jam Swim-Up Bar. There’s even a child-friendly fun zone themed after the Madagascar Penguins for the little ones.
The DreamWorks Animation Water Park will join an already established lineup of attractions at American Dream mall like Nickelodeon Universe — the largest indoor theme park in the U.S. — as well as Big Snow indoor ski resort and an NHL regulation size ice rink. In addition to the indoor water park, American Dream will add even more attractions in the coming months including an Angry Birds Mini Golf Course as well as the New Jersey SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery Center New Jersey. American Dream also will open a variety of new retail shops throughout 2020.
Tickets for the water park went on sale on Feb. 27, with limited quantities available, according to a press release. You can find more information on rides, attractions and retail at americandream.com.
