If you plan to visit Davidson on a Saturday morning, you’re in for a treat with the Davidson Farmer’s Market, that’s held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot behind Summit Coffee and Ben & Jerry’s.  With everything from cheeses and breads, to produce and handmade soaps, the market features a wide variety of local foods and artisan products.  Shoppers can also enjoy concessions from visiting food trucks and entertainment by local musicians while they browse the stands.  Although the market is open year round, the hours are shortened for the winter season.

When you’re ready for a bite to eat, you’re going to want to check out the delectable dishes at Kindred in downtown Davidson.  This stylish establishment is owned and operated by a Davidson family who brings their experiences traveling the world and working in fine dining restaurants to the recipes they cook up at Kindred.  Their unique twist on Southern cuisine includes Grandfather’s pickles in cider vinegar, crispy oysters with dill yogurt and spit-fired BBQ pork shoulder with Greek yogurt BBQ sauce.  But not to be missed is their milk bread made with house cultured butter and fleur du sel – a favorite with the locals.
