Located downtown and connected to the convention center, the over-the-top pool at the Marriott Marquis Houston is an obvious standout, built in the shape of the Lone Star State itself. There are actually two pools, the massive lazy river in the shape of Texas and an adjacent infinity pool. There’s also a hot tub and a bar and grill. Other facilities include a 5,000-square-foot spa with couples’ massages and salon services, along with multiple dining options that range from tapas to Mexican fare. The spacious rooms come with 55-inch flat-screen TVs with premium movie channels, coffeemakers and desks with ergonomic chairs. Some suites have bathrooms with deep soaking tubs near floor-to-ceiling windows for fabulous views.
Located west of downtown, this “wooded oasis in the heart of Houston,” as the hotel bills itself, is one of the best spa resorts in Texas. Four Seasons Houston is a five-star property located downtown, providing convenient access to the convention center and Minute Maid Park. The St. Regis Houston is located between the city’s upscale River Oaks neighborhood and The Galleria. Hotel ZaZa Houston is a fun and funky boutique hotel in the Museum District, which features a European-style pool that sits within a lovely courtyard surrounded by lush landscaping and lounge chairs. It’s the perfect place to soak up the sun during the day before it transforms into the Poolside at ZaZa by night, a popular outdoor bar area. A perfect spot for honeymooners, the luxe spa offering beauty and body treatments as well as a 24-hour fitness center with weights and cardio machines that each have individual TVs. This Italian-stye retreat boasts a beautiful saltwater pool and is tucked among the lush greenery that’s enhanced by ornate Italian-style cabanas. Fine poolside dining is offered at the Il Giardino and there’s a piano bar as well a small fitness center an on-site jewelry boutique. The rooms and suites all have living rooms and either full kitchens or kitchenettes – some come with balconies too.
The Alessandra offers a fabulous rooftop pool with rare panoramic vistas of downtown. It has its own dedicated food and drink menu that’s made it one of the city’s newest hot spots. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary car service within downtown, an upscale Mediterranean restaurant and a casual bar, a gym and a spa.
