Located in Allegany County, Maryland, the Little Orleans Campground is a highly rated place to stay on 222 acres of woodlands. This Western Maryland campground accommodates RVs and tents in a forested setting near lots of hiking, biking, horseback riding, and water activities. There are many amenities here for campers, including Wi-Fi, sports courts, a swimming pool, and a playground. You’ll also find a rec room onsite with pool tables and games. This is Maryland’s only oceanfront park and is known for the feral horses and other wildlife living here. Pets are allowed in several campground loops and the adjoining beaches. There are certain rules to follow if you want to use a generator during your camping stay or if you are renting an RV or trailer from a vendor.

Vacations and weekend getaways are fun when you book a campsite at the BayShore Campground, which is three miles from East Neck Island and also three miles from the town of Rock Hall. You’ll be close to nature trails, bird-watching restaurants, stores, and a marina when you stay here. The campground sits right along the bay to give you beautiful views at sunset. Since 1974, the Roaring Point Waterfront Campground has been welcoming guests in Maryland. This campground offers 30/50-amp sites with water, electricity, and sewer for RVs. It also has tent sites available, as well as a general store, bathhouse, laundry facilities, playground, and sports courts. Here’s another state park worth camping at in Maryland that’s called Susquehanna State Park. There are 69 campsites at this campground, which includes six sites with electric service. You’ll find two loops at the campground, each with a comfort station and hot showers. Six cabins are available for rent as well at the state park. Camping enthusiasts in Maryland can stay here between April and October. Pets are welcome everywhere in the park, including the cabins and campground. The campground is typically open from March through October and offers sites for RVs, tents, and cottages. Here you’ll find full hookup RV sites and tent sites that are open all year long. The campground offers free Wi-Fi and offers log cabin, glamping pod, yurt, and cottage accommodations too. This is a prime place to be for fresh air and outdoor recreation in a convenient location and handy amenities like a café and camp store.

Montgomery Parks runs the Little Bennett Campground, which has wooded full hookup and pull-through sites. When you camp here, you’ll have over 25 miles of trails to check out while hiking and biking through the 3,700 acres of forests and meadows. There are 91 campsites here and also a few yurts and cabins. Of these, 63 sites are for tents and 22 sites have water, electric, and sewer service. You can use the bathhouses with showers, drinking water spigots, and dump station here when you camp. Dogs are allowed as long as you follow the pet rules.

Double GG RV Park, McHenry

Situated just a half-mile from Deep Creek Lake, the Double GG RV Park offers overnight and seasonal camping with full hookup sites, cable, and Wi-Fi. Storage for RVs and boats is available onsite as well. There’s a lovely sunflower field that the owner’s family also operates by the campground. To see the sunflowers in full bloom, you may want to book your site in July or August. The RV park began as a dairy farm that led horseback rides, and you can read about the family’s history on the campground website.

The Frontier Town Campground has RV and tent sites available while you explore the many Frontier Town activities, such as the Wild West amusements, water park, mini-golf, exhibits, and arcade. Recreation options here include a swimming pool, fishing charters, a dog park, a marina, and nature trails. There are numerous camping options available, ranging from primitive sites to pull-through sites with full hookups on the waterfront and with their own docks. Amenities include golf cart rentals, laundromats, and a shuttle.

Overall, this state park spans over 3,000 acres of public land and features rugged mountains and the 243-acre Lake Habeeb in Western Maryland’s Allegany County.
