Yuma, Arizona is one of the top RVing destinations in the U.S. and a popular place for retirees, known as snowbirds, to flock to for warm winter weather. There are so many places to stay in your RV in Yuma that it can be overwhelming to narrow down the options. But once you take a closer look, you’ll find that many of the resorts have 55+ age restrictions, dog breed restrictions, and come at different price points based on the amenities offered. There are RV park options just outside Yuma and across the California border worth considering too.

Shangri-La RV Resort
The Shangri-La Resort is a 55+ RV park in Yuma that offers reasonable rates and is open year-round. It’s a pet-friendly park with shade trees and near city services. This is a family-owned RV park with free Wi-Fi, cable TV, pull-through sites, and a swimming pool. There are over 300 full-hookup RV sites here, as well as a game room, fitness center, laundry facilities, and sports courts. There’s a new pool here as of summer 2020. Some activities offered at the park include shuffleboard, mini-golf, casino night, golf outings, bowling nights, and line dancing.

Southern Mesa RV Park
Here’s a family-friendly RV park that welcomes campers of all ages in Yuma, which is good to know if you’re traveling with your family because many parks here do not welcome kids. The Southern Mesa RV Park has large sites and has been renovating its kitchen, recreation center, and restrooms. Amenities offered at this RV campground in Yuma include a pool, dog run, fire pit, pickleball court, and horseshoe pit. A kids’ play area and covered entertainment pavilion are coming soon.

Sands End RV Park
The city of Yuma, Arizona sits on the Arizona/California border, so it’s also easy to camp in nearby Winterhaven, California to check out everything in the Yuma area. The Sands End RV Park is a friendly and affordable park in Winterhaven that is designed with seniors in mind. It has many activities for older adults to join and get to know each other. The park is just two miles from Yuma and often features events like bingo, potluck dinners, ice cream socials, karaoke, and poker tournaments. The park’s location right off of Route 8 is convenient; however, you should know that the sites here are smaller and somewhat close together.

Caravan Oasis RV Park
At the Caravan Oasis RV Park, there are 510 spacious RV sites among landscaped grounds and Saguaro cacti. Campers rate this park very highly because it feels like a home away from home. It’s located along Frontage Road for easy access to everything in the Yuma area. The sites are spacious, dogs are allowed here, and the facilities feature an outdoor pool and hot tub.

Hidden Cove RV Park
Meanwhile, the Hidden Cove RV Park in Yuma is a 55+ park for RVs and mobile homes. It has 117 sites for RVs that are back-ins and pull-throughs. The park can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet and rents spaces by the day, week, month, half-year, or year. Park amenities include showers, laundry facilities, a clubhouse with Wi-Fi and cable TV, fishing, hiking and biking trails, and a pool table. There’s even a small boat/canoe entry point here that takes you into the Colorado River. This park is on the north end of Yuma and offers an affordable daily rate of $45 if you’re just passing through and don’t have a special membership.

Desert Holiday RV Resort
For camping in Yuma, AZ, you can also choose the Desert Holiday RV Resort, which is a 55+ resort in the heart of Yuma. It is pet-friendly and welcomes both short-term and long-term stays. This is a MAR Communities resort that takes online reservations and has many community amenities. These include an outdoor pool, spa, shuffleboard, fitness center, hobby room, and horseshoe pit. There are lots of planned activities here, such as potlucks, group exercise classes, happy hours, and church services. Daily RV site pricing is $40 per day, with discounts for longer stays.

Rivers Edge RV Resort
When you stay at the Rivers Edge RV Resort, you’ll be along the Colorado River and have river frontage available for fishing and water sports. It’s just a few minutes from downtown Yuma and does not have age restrictions for campers. The large 52-foot by 26-foot lots have full hookups for RVs, while the park offers private mailboxes, laundry, showers, free cable TV, a pool hall, card room, and up to three pets per site.

Arizona West RV Park
With this RV park in Yuma, you’ll be in a 55+ community in the foothills of Yuma. The Arizona West RV Park is pet-friendly (max two small dogs) and has a pool, spa, shuffleboard courts, and clubhouse for social events. It is just off of I-80 and surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. The RV park has 227 back-in sites, many of which have shade trees. Other park offerings include free cable hookups, Wi-Fi at the clubhouse, and propane delivery.

Sun Vista RV Resort
Another 55+ RV park in Yuma is the Sun Vista RV Resort, which has a two-story fitness center, clubs, classes, and a craft building so you can join quilting or painting activities. Happy hours and dance nights are hosted here, and up to two pets are welcome to stay with you here too. There’s an onsite café to grab a bite to eat and also a concert series that features musical concerts, comedy shows, and dinner theater murder mysteries. Prices vary depending on whether you want a pull-through or a back-in space, and also how long you choose to stay.

Friendly Acres RV Resort
Among the many RV parks in Yuma, Arizona is the Friendly Acres RV Resort that has been operating since 1971. It is primarily for long-term residents, but there are also short-term sites available. It’s a 55+ gated RV and mobile home park with a pool hall, craft hall, recreation area, and more. With pull-through sites to accommodate big rigs, Friendly Acres also has a swimming pool, two hot tubs, library, and Ironwood Golf Course next door to keep you active. It is in an area of Yuma that has multiple RV parks and has lots of photos of the facilities on its website to give you a sense of what everything looks like.

Sun Ridge RV Park
The Sun Ridge RV Park is a Yuma, AZ RV park for senior adults that has full-hookups, large spaces for 40-foot RVs with slide-outs, and graveled individual pads. Like many of the other local RV parks, this one has free satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a pool, a large spa, and shuffleboard. There are planned activities that you can join here, as well as laundry facilities, a pet area, and propane available. This is an affordable RV park that offers a friendly community vibe.

Rolle’s Lynda Vista RV Park
When you’re looking to camp in Yuma, there’s also Rolle’s Lynda Vista RV Park, a large resort that welcomes pets up to 35 pounds. This 55+ RV park has been around since 1987 and has 110 spaces for RVs. Amenities include Wi-Fi, citrus trees, and sites available for just a night or up to an entire season. There is also a swimming pool, putting green, shuffleboard, and laundry facility here. In addition to RV sites, there are also vacation rental units here for people who want the RV experience but don’t want to maintain their own RV.
