There are plenty of quaint B&Bs and hotels that you can stay at here, but another option is to rent a cabin for a unique experience. In this part of New England, these accommodations are often referred to as “cottages” instead of “cabins.” But regardless of what they’re called, they have a refreshingly rustic charm and a cute and cozy vibe we love. This adorable Airbnb rental is on the Ponagansett Reservoir that’s about 30 minutes from Providence. It’s a nice place to be to relax on a small beach and to go fishing and swimming. The sunsets from the deck are spectacular, while there’s also a fire pit, gas grill, kayaks, and row boat for guests to use. Pets are welcome, although there are some restrictions to discuss first with the host. This is a great rental cabin experience to enjoy nature all around you and breathe in some fresh air.
Two Bedroom Cottage, Narragansett
Up to six people can stay in this Rhode Island rental that is less than five miles from Narragansett Town Beach. It has two bedrooms and an upstairs loft for sleeping. It also has a bathroom, kitchen, stone fireplace, and multiple air conditioning units. You’ll love the screened-in porch for outdoor living and also the large yard where you can enjoy the fresh ocean air. Additional amenities, such as paddleboard deliveries and pre-stocked refrigerators, are available from the rental company. Other fun things nearby are exploring Jamestown and shopping at the Wickford shops.
Quintessential Cottage in Matunuck, South Kingstown
With about 1,000 square feet of space, three bedrooms, and one bathroom, here’s a Rhode Island cottage with a laidback surf town vibe. It has a cabin-like feel with a family-friendly beach and small play area. Lots of fun things to do are nearby, including an ice cream stand, farm stand, and surf shop. The Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge is 2.5 miles away, and the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge is about 10 miles away. This is a good spot for water activities, such as deep-sea fishing and tuna fishing charters. The Vrbo rental sleeps six people and has a bathroom and an outdoor shower, as well as a kitchen and living room. Dogs are allowed here with the host’s approval.
Snug Cottage, South Kingstown

Whether you’re looking for a staycation, a vacation, or to work remotely from somewhere fun, this tiny home is a nice option. It is a studio space with a private deck, lake view, HDTV, private bath, full kitchen, and laundry machines. It does not have direct lake access, but a small beach is about a five-minute walk away. It’s a perfect spot for two people and has a double-size bed for sleeping. Providence is about 15 minutes away, and Newport is about 40 minutes from here. Overall, it’s in a residential neighborhood that has a summer lake house-style vibe that is perfect for a little getaway.
