World Beer Festival, Durham (Nearby Hotels)
The World Beer Festival, which was created by the minds at All About Beer Magazine, is held every year at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham and is a favorite among beer lovers because of the wide variety of breweries that participate – over 40 to be exact. You’ll find everything from national brands like Anheuser Busch and Pabst, to local favorites like Mother Earth Brewing and Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery. Plus, there will be several hard cideries on-site and even a hard seltzer brewer, so the gluten-free folks can join in too. With two different sessions available (from 12-4 or 6-10), you choose the time that works best for you and then get ready to enjoy unlimited brews, games, food trucks and more.

Voracious & Rare Beer Festival, Wilmington (Nearby Hotels)
If you want to try some different beers that you’ve never had before or possibly never even heard of before, then you’ll want to check out the Voracious and Rare Beer Festival in Wilmington. This festival is unlike most other beer festivals because the organizers will actually turn down breweries if they’re too well known! Instead of having the same old thing, you can sample limited release beers from over 30 different breweries. Plus, enjoy delicious appetizers and live music while you take in the views from the festival’s unique location – the deck of the USS North Carolina battleship.

OBX Brewtag, Nags Head (Nearby Hotels)
OBX Brewtag is a beer festival like no other. Named after the famous Red Bull Flutag that takes place every year in Germany where contestants attempt to take flight in their homemade flying machines, contestants at Brewtag compete to see who can fly an empty 1/6 keg barrel the farthest. In addition to the unique form of entertainment, there will also be over a dozen different breweries and cideries on-site selling their best craft concoctions.

The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival, Manteo (Nearby Hotels)
Roanoke Island, on the east coast of North Carolina, is home to “the Mothervine”, the oldest known cultivated grapevine in the country. So, of course, they know how to celebrate wine. And The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival not only celebrates wine from North Carolina wineries but also food from some of the area’s most popular chefs and establishments, as well as the history of America’s first English colony.

Yadkin Valley Grape Festival, Yadkinville (Nearby Hotels)
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Yadkin Valley was the first federally approved American Viticultural Area in the state of North Carolina. And because of its rich soil, is home to not only the state’s native varieties of Muscadine and Scuppernong, but also many European varietals as well. And you can sample a wide variety of them at the annual Yadkin Valley Grape Festival, where there will be more than 16 wineries on hand from the surrounding area offering tastings, as well as plenty of food, entertainment and shopping.

Swan Creek Riedel Barrel Tasting Wine Tour, Hamptonville (Nearby Hotels)
Although this isn’t so much a wine festival as it is a tour, it is still a must-do for wine lovers. Especially, those of the red variety. Four of the Swan Creek vineyards, located in Hamptonville will open their doors for a special tour that celebrates both Riedel wine glasses and the award-winning wines of the Swan Creek AVA. Participants in the tour will get a special collector’s edition Riedel wine glass for their tasting at their first stop, as well as a pairing of gourmet food and red wine at each of the other vineyards.
