Moms are among the hardest-working people on the planet, but sadly, their loving efforts often go unnoticed or underappreciated. Yet Mother’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to turn that all around and do something truly special for your mom, the mother of your kids, or other women in your life. This year, instead of flowers and brunch, why not give the mom in your life something that she’d love but never give herself…a vacation getaway! Here are some great Mother’s Day resort getaways to really treat mom to what she deserves this year.

If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day escape somewhere warm, then consider making a trip to The Julia in Miami. This is a new adults-only (18+) boutique hotel that’s in the heart of South Beach and perfect for spending quality time together. Guests who stay here can use beach chairs at no additional cost, and there’s a wine and cheese happy hour in the lobby in the evenings. For dinner, you and your mom can walk to some great upscale restaurants near the hotel, such as Upland and Cibo. If you’re feeling energetic the next morning, you can take a complimentary yoga class together at 3rd Street Beach Yoga. Then fuel up for a day of exploring the city with The Julia’s French-continental breakfast in the hotel lobby.
If your mom loves nature and being in scenic, peaceful places, then perhaps a Mother’s Day retreat to the Barnsley Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia is in order. The Barnsley Resort is a 3,000-acre resort that has a Mother’s Day package to offer this year. Starting from $309 per night, this package includes a $50 daily credit for moms that can be applied to a wide range of resort activities, including horseback riding, golf, a spa treatment, fly fishing, bicycling, clay shooting, and more. These are all wonderful ways for you and your mom to reconnect with Mother Nature and each other. On Mother’s Day Sunday, there’s an amazing brunch served at this resort with delicious entrees, unlimited sides, and a tempting desert spread in the brand-new Georgian Hall.
Another fun idea is to surprise your mom with an international trip to Guatemala for adventure, learning, and luxury. There are 19 bungalow suites here over the Quexil Lagoon to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Things to do nearby include hotel-guided tours of the ruins, to jungle destinations, and to Monkey Island, which is actually what it sounds like and a ton of fun when you get to meet the friendly monkeys that live here. The onsite restaurant is called Shultun for your Mother’s Day dinner, and there’s an infinity pool with gorgeous views. You can also take your mom to the brand-new spa at Las Lagunas and take advantage of the “Like Mother, Like Daughter” package that includes facial, 60-minute massages, manicures, pedicures, and a blow-dry.
Another great place in Florida to take mom for Mother’s Day is the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa, an oceanfront hotel that offers sand, sun, and wellness. At the resort, you can frequent the oceanfront swimming pools, spa, international restaurants, and watch ships as the come to enter the Panama Canal. There’s a kids’ club onsite if you want to bring the little ones along and a Sand, Sloths & Skyscrapers package that packs in lots of beach, city, and rainforest adventures for all ages. You can also take a Gamboa rainforest tour and visit the sloth sanctuary as part of your stay here.
