Although Kure Beach is one of the smaller beach towns in the state of North Carolina, it’s still packed with plenty of things to do and see. Besides miles of sandy shores, including a six-mile stretch of completely undeveloped beach, there’s also an award-winning aquarium, an oceanfront park and playground, a 700-foot long fishing pier and Fort Fisher State Historic Site – the site of the largest land-to-sea battle in the Civil War.

It’s also got a small town charm and a friendly, relaxed vibe that’s hard to match. From the local surf shops and specialty boutiques, to the old-school motels and cozy, oceanfront inns, you’ll feel right at home here from the moment you arrive.
