Summer in Sugar Land, Texas, just got a whole lot sweeter. On May 12, 2017, the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land debuted “Sweet – A Tasty Journey.” The exhibit will be open until Aug. 8, and is part of Sugar Land’s Sweet Summer campaign.

Sweet: A Tasty Journey

The special exhibition teaches visitors about the history of candy from a “farm to fork” perspective by telling the stories behind the label. Interactive exhibits and displays bring iconic chocolatiers and candy makers to life. Learn about the candy-making process and the inner workings behind famous candy brands.

Sweet: A Tasty Journey

Discover the inspiration behind Willy Wonka! Take a peek at some of the iconic props from the 1971 film, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” including Gene Wilder’s cane and lickable wallpaper.

“Sweet: A Tasty Journey” explores the significance candy has in different cultures and the role it plays in celebrations across the globe. The exhibition complements Sugar Land’s rich history and global makeup and will give visitors a firsthand experience of how sweet it is in Sugar Land.
