See The Anderson’s Sunflowers in Cumming, Georgia Bloom this Summer

Sunflowers are one of the most iconic flowers in America, and you can experience their vibrant beauty this July in Cumming, Georgia. Now owned by Dennis Anderson, Anderson’s Sunflowers is a farm, local landmark, and historical place. The fields here were originally used for corn and wheat until the 1980s when a new tradition of planting sunflowers began.

The Anderson family plants their sunflowers in May, and they typically bloom during the first week in July. This unbelievable scene only lasts for about two weeks, so start planning your trip right now! Follow the farm’s Facebook page for the most up-to-date information about when the flowers are expected to bloom.

And bring your camera because this is a wonderful place to snap pics of your friends and family. The entry fee is $10 per car, payable by cash or check only. You can walk around and take all the pictures you like, but professional photographers scheduling sessions will be charged $35 per session.

What’s great about this sunflower farm is that you don’t have to leave all of the beauty behind when you go home. Pre-cut sunflowers are for sale by the dozen and half dozen. In the past, the farm has sold small and large vases of stunning sunflowers that you can take home as a souvenir or give them to someone special as a gift.  Or for a more immersive experience, you can cut your own flowers from the field! Don’t worry, the Andersons will let you borrow some clippers.

In the spirit of supporting local businesses and sustainable products, Anderson’s Sunflowers also sells local honey at its farm. Keep in mind that sunflowers attract bees, so take the necessary precautions if you have bee allergies.

There’s also a historic barn that dates back to the early 1900s and adds to the ambiance to this serene sunflower scene. You’ll find a parking lot and porta-potties onsite to make things easy and convenient when you arrive. Dogs are welcome, as long as you keep Fido on a leash. Stop by any day of the week between 8:30 am and 8:30 pm over the next couple weeks for an unforgettable day out in North Georgia!
