6 North Carolina Corn Mazes to Get Lost in This Fall

Corn Mazes, or Maize Mazes as they’re often called, have quickly gained popularity as a must-do fall activity. And North Carolina has plenty of opportunities for you to try one out. Some are just straight-up mazes, while others include hayrides, pumpkin picking, farm animals or maybe even a haunted house. But they’re all guaranteed to be a great time for visitors of all ages.

Rural Hill Amazing Maize Maze, Huntersville

Spread over a whopping seven acres, the Rural Hill Amazing Maize Maze is one of the largest in the Southeast and one you definitely don’t want to miss. You’ll wander through over two miles of interconnecting paths that form an elaborate pattern that’s different every year.  But don’t worry, you’re not totally on your own.  When you enter the maze, you’ll receive a blank map and find the missing pieces at checkpoints throughout. Plus, you’ll be carrying a giant flag, and there are staff members stationed around the maze just in case you get stuck. For an extra dose of fun, bring your flashlight and try the maze at night.

Ken's Korny Corn Maze, Garner

Ken’s Korny Corn Maze in Garner is the one that started it all, as North Carolina’s first and longest-running maze.  Stretching over six acres, the maze contains over two and a half miles of paths of cornstalks towering five feet in the air, so all you’ll see is the corn in front of you and the skies above you.  They also have flags and staff on-hand just in case you get lost or need help, but they have an added feature that many other mazes don’t have – two rest areas in the maze with benches and water coolers.  But the fun doesn’t stop there – there’s also a miniature maze for children, a rope maze, a miniature golf course and much, much more.
