An incredible adventure can be found in the tree tops of a cypress forest just west of downtown Austin, Texas. At this aerial resort, you can play and stay among the trees all while getting a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful Texas Hill Country scenery.

Zipline canopy tours

At Cypress Valley Canopy Tours in Spicewood, Texas, you can zipline through the cypress trees during the day and retreat to a luxury tree house at night. The zipline tours include five ziplines, two sky bridges, and a rappel from the last platform. Each tour lasts from 90 minutes to two hours and the longest line is about 350 feet. You’ll soar through the canopy of old-growth cypress trees, stopping at each platform that sits up to 40 feet high in the tree tops.

Sky bridges

After your tour, you can stay for a picnic or enjoy the property’s lake and spring-fed pool for swimming. There’s also a basketball court, volleyball court and plenty of hammocks and chairs for relaxing.

Juniper and Willow tree houses

After a day of play, the adventure continues in one of Cypress Valley’s tree houses. Nestled high in the tree tops of the cypress forest are four tree houses. The Lofthaven tree house sleeps two people and is a round yurt-style bedroom complete with a queen bed and a wrap-around porch, and is connected to a bathhouse with a waterfall tub. The Juniper and Willow tree houses also accommodate two people and are solar-powered single rooms complete with a queen bed and outdoor deck.

The Nest tree houses

For families, The Nest tree house offers accommodations for four to six people. It includes two bedrooms, a lounge for games and reading, and a kitchenette, all perched above the creek near a small waterfall. A small bridge connects the tree houses to a private bathhouse complete with a bath and shower combination.

Zipline in a cypress canopy

On certain evenings, you can zipline by moonlight at Cypress Valley Canopy Tours during its scheduled night tours. The tree-lined creek is decorated with glow sticks and zipliners can wear glow stick bracelets and necklaces to give that extra neon shine as you glide through the trees at night.

The Lofthaven tree house
