Up for a new kind of adventure? One where you can zip, swing, jump, and climb through a playground in the air ? Suspended above the banks of the Arkansas River, Browns Canyon Adventure Park in Buena Vista, Colo., is an adrenaline junkie’s dream. At this park, you can conquer challenges in an aerial obstacle course, overlooking the beautiful Browns Canyon National Monument.

Browns Canyon Adventure Park

The aerial adventure park has no shortage of exciting challenges. Take your pick of four courses, with a total of 66 challenge elements and seven ziplines. There’s also a 30-foot vertical limit challenge that tests your strength as you ascend and navigate your way through the increasingly difficult obstacles to ring the victory bell at the top.

The Big Drop Swing

If you’re still left wanting more adventure, thrill seekers can take part in two other adrenaline-pumping challenges. Climb 25 feet to take the Leap of Faith, jumping out to grab hold of a trapeze bar suspended in the air. Those with even more courage can hop on the Big Drop Swing. The giant swing seats three people and is hoisted 40 feet into the air to swing out toward the Arkansas River.

Browns Canyon Adventure Park

Browns Canyon Adventure Park is just an hour or two from major cities such as Denver, Colorado Springs and Breckenridge. The quick drive makes for an adventurous day trip for groups of friends and families. It’s also a quick trip for companies seeking team building activities outside the boardroom.

Aerial obstacle course

The aerial park is owned and operated by Noah’s Ark, a Colorado whitewater rafting outfitter. Adults and children at least 7 years old can participate in the challenge courses, which range from introductory level to more difficult challenges that will test even the most fearless adventurers. The aerial park uses Smart Belay system for safety, which catches you when you fall. Browns Canyon Adventure Park is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm from the month of May through Labor Day weekend.
